Site Licenses

Cheng & Tsui offers site licensed "Lab" versions of most of our audio, video, and software products. The license allows permission to operate software on your institution's password-protected server for use either in a language lab or on the students' own computers, and permission to duplicate materials for use inside a language lab.

Please note that because of software requirements, the license for the Chinese Odyssey CD-ROMs differs in that permission is given to install the software directly on several workstations.

The fees for these licenses cover development costs of materials and software, which means that those costs are kept separate from the costs of the printed textbooks. This enables us to keep textbooks as affordable as possible for all of our institutional customers, whether or not they use a site license.

Site licenses never expire, and upgrades are available for significant discounts. You can prepay with a valid Visa or MasterCard or by purchase order.

If you only need a single copy of the material for your own personal use, then you should purchase the "Individual" version of the product.



Standard Site License

This product is protected by both U.S. copyright law and international treaty provisions. Cheng & Tsui Company grants this NON-EXCLUSIVE site license only to the purchaser of this product. This license remains valid for the duration of all courses for which the corresponding texts are adopted as required materials. This license is void once the corresponding materials are no longer used in any course at the specified campus. The permission is further contingent on agreement to one of the following stipulations:

  • This license authorizes the purchaser to make unlimited copies of the product, for use on one (1) campus only. All copies are strictly for classroom and language laboratory use, by its instructors and registered students, without charge. Copies are not for resale.
