As we celebrate 45 years of success at Cheng & Tsui, I want to take a moment to thank you personally. Your passion for teaching and trust in our resources have been at the heart of our journey. Together, we’ve been building a bridge to greater understanding and appreciation of Asian languages and cultures among North Carolina students, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
When we started in Boston all those years ago, we faced the challenge of creating culturally authentic, engaging materials that would work in Western classrooms. We listened to your needs, and through your feedback, we created the first Mandarin Chinese textbooks in both simplified and traditional characters and, later, in full-color editions. This wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about making language learning inclusive, vibrant, accessible, and engaging for all students.
Our strength lies not just in the quality of our products but also in the breadth and depth of our offerings. Because you asked, we’ve developed a comprehensive ecosystem that includes textbooks, supplementary materials, and online resources. This holistic approach ensures that you, as educators, have everything you need to bring success to your students. This year, we’re excited to introduce new supplemental readings for Integrated Chinese and launch enhancements to Go Far with Chinese. Plus, we’ve added new features you requested to our digital platform, FluencyLink™, to give you more flexibility in the classroom.
We know great teachers make the most significant impact, so we’ve long prioritized supporting your growth through professional development grants, awards, and practical pedagogical publications. These initiatives reflect our deep commitment to empowering educators like you to keep inspiring your students and innovating your classrooms.
