No purchase is necessary to enter or win. By entering this Contest, you agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of Cheng & Tsui (the "Sponsor"), which are final and binding in all respects. This Contest and eligibility are subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and may be void where prohibited by law.
Eligibility
Contestants must—
- be actively enrolled in an Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language course at the time of the contest.
- be 13 years old or older to enter this contest.
- enter only one video.
- have Internet access.
Contest entries must not contain inappropriate language or subject matter. Inappropriate entries will be disqualified at the discretion of the Sponsor.
Employees of Cheng & Tsui Company and the immediate family members (spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, ward, daughter or son) or members of the households of such employees whether or not related are not eligible to enter or win a prize.
Though only language students are eligible to enter the contest, anyone may participate by voting!
Releases
By entering in this Contest, Contestants agree to Sponsor’s use of their personal information for all online and offline purposes. Contestants should complete any release forms or permissions agreements required by their school or institution; this is not the responsibility of the Sponsor.
Contest Period
Cheng & Tsui’s International “Language in Motion” Video Contest begins at 12:00 a.m. EST on February 27, 2015 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on April 30, 2015 ("Contest Period"). Judging of entries will begin at 12:00 a.m. EST on April 16, 2015 and end at 5:00 p.m. EST on April 23, 2015 (the "Judging Period"). Open public voting will begin at 9:00 a.m. EST on April 27, 2015 and end at 11:59 p.m. EST on April 30, 2015 (the "Voting Period"). All Contest times will be measured by the computer system clock.
Finalists
Finalists will be selected by a committee of Cheng & Tsui employees and announced on April 24, 2015. Submissions will be judged equally on creativity, content accuracy, and language proficiency (based on declared proficiency level).
Voting
The winning entries will be decided by your votes. Voters will need to submit their email address in order to cast a vote. Registered users of Cheng & Tsui online language resources will be able to access the public voting system through their Cheng & Tsui account. Facebook users will be able to vote through their Facebook account. Email registration will only be used to ensure that each email address is used to cast no more than one vote. Emails provided for voting purposes will not be used or shared by Cheng & Tsui for any other purpose.
Voting will be open from April 24 through April 30, 2015. The winners will be announced on May 1, 2015.
Winners
There will be three winners in all. The contest entry with the most votes at the Contest close (11:59 p.m. EST on April 30, 2015) will be named the grand prize winner. The entries with the second and third most votes will be named 1st runner up and 2nd runner up, respectively.
The selected potential winners will be notified by email or telephone within twenty-four (24) hours of the close of the Contest Period. In the event of noncompliance with either the rules or any of these time periods, an alternate winner may be selected at Sponsor's discretion. Sponsor has the right to revise dates and procedures mentioned in these rules.
