Installing Chinese in macOS

  1. Open System Preferences. Select "Keyboard," then select "Input Sources."
  2. Click the "Add" button, select "Chinese, Simplified" (or "Chinese, Traditional"), select "Pinyin - Simplified" (or "Pinyin - Traditional"), then click "Add."
  3. Close the System Preferences window.
  4. On the desktop, there should be a flag icon in the upper right corner of your screen. Click on the icon to slect your input method. You can now select simplified Chinese or traditional Chinese.
