Through sixteen scripts of original television broadcasts from China, students learn about recent social, economic, and cultural changes in Chinese society. China Scene’s DVD and audio recordings present authentic television news reports and features from mainland China, allowing students to hear and see for themselves how the television texts they are reading and translating appear in life. The textbook includes written transcripts of each television broadcast, plus related dialogues, vocabulary, language notes, cultural notes, and exercises. Texts are in simplified and traditional characters on facing pages.
