Reviews

"I like the format of the videos! The languages and settings are lively and authentic. My students will love them. In addition, the videos expose them to natural Chinese expressions that are not usually taught in the textbooks.
我喜欢你们这种采访的形式!语言生动,场景真实,我学生应该很喜欢看,而且还可以学到很多课文里不会教的生活化的语言。"

About the Series

Bring the Integrated Chinese series to life with these popular DVDs!

In the Level 1 DVDs, all forty lesson texts from the Level 1 textbooks are presented as lively skits featuring the Wang Peng, Li You, and friends. Students will enjoy the entertaining storyline as they strengthen their communicative skills and understanding of Chinese culture. Culture Minute segments related to the topics in each lesson take students onto the streets of Beijing, where they can listen in on unscripted, informal conversations with native speakers of Chinese.

The Level 2 DVDs take students to other locations in China. Each 4-6 minute documentary-style episode features conversations with the co-hosts and friends, interviews with native speakers of Chinese, and interviews with non-native speakers living and working in China. Students will explore themes in contemporary Chinese culture and society, while hearing the grammar and vocabulary they have studied used in context.

Designed for use with Integrated Chinese, the DVDs can be adapted for use in most beginning Chinese courses. Worksheets with pre- and post-viewing activities are available for free download on the Integrated Chinese Companion Website.
