Go Far with Chinese Level 2 Textbook
Go Far with Chinese Level 2 uses a proficiency-based approach to give learners a solid foundation in all four language skills. In Level 2, students accompany American teenagers Isabella and Martin Lopez as they plan a trip and travel west to Xi’an and the surrounding countryside. Topics build upon students' existing cultural knowledge of China, ranging from Chinese performance art, ethnic groups, and Chinese history.
Following the same structure as Level 1, Level 2 also features:
- Emphasis on building reading stamina
- More support for in-class target language use
- Systematic recycling of previously learned language
Level 2 is intended to be used for one year at the high school level and introduces approximately 300 new words.

Go Far with Chinese is a comprehensive, proficiency-based Chinese language program for middle school and high school students. Students follow Martin and Isabella Lopez, two American teenagers whose mother receives a work assignment in Beijing. Each chapter brings a new episode in the lives of the Lopezes, allowing students to experience the excitement and challenges of adapting to life in China.
