Sign up for: "China in the World"

Join the Curriculum Specialists at Primary Source as they discuss ways of teaching modern Chinese history in the high school or college classroom, from the Qing Dynasty to the 2008 Olympics. The presenters propose that to get students to truly understand the significance of the dramatic appearance of China on the world stage during last summer's Olympics, it is necessary to go back into China's history. Various activities, timelines and primary source materials will be shown as examples of resources that can be used to make history exciting and relevant for students.
