Mr. & Mrs. Kinoshita have collaborated on study guides for films on Japanese topics, worked on teams developing standards for Japanese language, and led workshops on teaching Japanese language.

Takuo Kinoshita has been teaching the Japanese Language and culture courses at Parkland College, Champaign, Illinois for more than 10 years, and has served as President of the Illinois Association of Teachers of Japanese and on the Board of the National Council of Teachers of Japanese. In addition to teaching summer language programs at Harvard University, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin, and Middlebury College, he also taught Japanese at the University of Canterbury, in Christchurch, New Zealand for five years, and taken high school and college students and teachers on study programs in Japan.

Waunita Kinoshita has lived in Japan for eight years. She has taught Japanese at the elementary and secondary levels in the Urbana School District, Urbana Illinois. She also teaches the Humanities 103 course, “Cultural Values of the Eastern World” at Parkland College. She has served as president of the Illinois Association of Teachers of Japanese and of the Illinois Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages.
