Writing and Enjoying Haiku

How can something so short be so deep? This is but one of the mysteries of the haiku. Long used in third-grade classrooms as an introduction to poetry (and a nod to short attention spans), the haiku deserves much more recognition as a moment from nature drawn to a fine point and held.
