Newspaper Chinese ABC

This textbook and its companion audio cassettes teach daily Chinese through the use of authentic newspaper articles compiled from the Renmin Ribao (People's Daily) and Xinhua News Agency.

This primary source-based approach enhances students’ reading and writing skills, sharpens their understanding of Chinese in its daily use, and exposes them to contemporary culture and current events in China. The articles discuss such topics as diplomatic relations between the P.R.C. and the U.S.A., China’s education system, and the nation’s economic growth.
