A personal view of Korea by one of Korea's most famous scholar-missionaries. One of the earliest Western missionaries to settle in Korea, Gale was a Presbyterian minister from Canada who arrived in Seoul in 1888 and, over the next 40 years, established himself as a noted translator, educator, and writer about Korea.
