James Scarth Gale and his History of the Korean People

A new edition of the classic history of Korea first published in 1927. The History of the Korean People has been extensively annotated by noted Korea scholar Richard Rutt with expanded sources and commentary. It is introduced by an extensive biography of Gale, a Presbyterian minister from Canada who became a towering figure in the early days of Western residence in Korea.
