A Life Journey to the East: Sinological Studies in Memory of Giuliano Bertuccioli, edited by Antonino Forte and Federico Masini, is a collection of essays in memory of Giuliano Bertuccioli (1923-2001), a former diplomat and professor of Chinese Literature at the University of Rome for many years. The essays cover many subjects in the sinological field, including the history of Chinese Buddhism, the Chinese literary tradition, and the history of Sino-Western relations. Contains a posthumous essay by the famous French scholar Paul Pelliot on Kumarajiva.

This collection of essays is part of a series by the Italian School of East Asian Studies (ISEAS) research institute, which focuses on the history, culture, literature, and religion of East Asia. Unless otherwise noted, all books are primarily in English, with references in Chinese and Japanese for important terms, concepts and bibliographical sources throughout.
