Hello! LOTE

In Australian pedagogy, LOTE stands for "languages other than English." This attractive and user-friendly series offers an easy avenue into language learning for primary-school students. Hello! LOTE's flexible system builds on students' knowledge in other subjects like math and science to promote group work and interactive learning. The two components, Counting and Natural World, may be used in conjunction or separately, and non-sequential units within each component provide fun, activities-based language instruction. Each component includes a "big book" for group instruction and a diverse set of smaller books for students to work on individually. The Natural World Teacher's Book provides teaching tips and ideas, photocopiable activities and games, and outcome assessment sheets; the Counting Display Cards are laminated and double-sided. Counting cards feature colorful pictures accompanied by written numbers as well as simple dots for easy recognition.
