Specially designed to meet the needs of non-native Korean language learners, the Hankukoseries is a comprehensive and structured approach to beginning Korean.

The series includes six volumes. Each chapter includes engaging conversations and new vocabulary relevant to daily situations and exchanges. Clear grammatical explanations and examples help the non-native speaker with typical usage problems, taking into account the student's native language, and then showing how and under what circumstances patterns are used. A separate pattern exercise section lets students convert their newly acquired grammatical knowledge to linguistic practice, and also helps them acquire new vocabulary and master the phonological rules of the language.

The Hankukoseries pays special attention to everyday conversational situations, and explores topics that a student would be likely to encounter in Korea, such as introductions, visiting a friend's home, going to the movies, and more. Notes on Korean culture and practices provide opportunities for enhancing interpersonal communication and cultural skills. Each volume includes a vocabulary index and a grammar index.
