The Chinese Odyssey, Volume 2 Combined Workbook supplements the textbook, and comprises the second semester of a first-year Chinese course for students in high school or college. Its ten lessons emphasize pronunciation and the use of colloquial expressions, to put students on the right track to speaking Chinese accurately and fluently. Written Chinese is also introduced, but at a slower pace than the spoken language. Topics include letter writing, making and receiving phone calls, and dating.
Volume 2 completes the first year in a series of flexible courseware that can accommodate different learning styles and teaching environments.
The 2007 combined character edition contains simplified and traditional characters in separate sections of the book, and includes corrections to the previous edition.
