How to run this update if you are using a Hard Drive Install:
- If you downloaded this patch, extract the contents of the zip file by selectiing "Extract All" - you will probably want to extract the files to your desktop - but you may choose any location except the Chinese Odyssey program directory.
- Open the folder that you have extracted - it should contain several folders and files, including update.bat.
- Double click on the file update.bat to run it
- When the process is finished - you should see "Update Complete" - press any key to exit the utility.
If you customized the install location (Advanced)
- Right click on the file update.bat and choose edit
- Modify line 10 to match your install location. Please use the sample as a reference. (i.e. set src=<install location of volume 1>)
- Save the file and exit
- Run update.bat
How to run this update if you are running from the CD (Advanced)
This process can be used to update your CD-ROM for future hard drive installations so that you do not need to run the update in the future.
- Make two folders on your computer called CD1 and CD2
- Copy all folders from the Chinese Odyssey Volume 1 CD1 into the CD1 folder do not include any of the installation files (e.g.lang.dat,setup.exe)
- Right Click on the file CD1update.bat and choose edit
- Modify line 7 to represent where you created the CD1 folder.
- Save the file and exit
- Run CDupdate.bat
- Once the update is completed, burn the contents of the CD1 folder to a new 700MB CD. We suggest you name the CD CO_VOL1_CD1.
- Repeat for CD2
