Dear Friends and Customers,
Happy New Year! I hope 2010 will bring joy and fulfillment to you and your family. The new year is generally a time of reflection, as well as anticipation of the future. In 2010, global education and Asian language learning will be vital priorities shared by schools, educators, students, parents, and leaders all over the world. Our conversations with devoted educators planning new programs reveal this enthusiasm for languages and cultures—we look forward to fulfilling those needs.
As schools tap the exciting potential of technology in the learning experience, we are proud to offer more and more multimedia and online products. The Integrated Chinese workbooks are now available online, in an interactive format that enhances the way students learn. Through the lively videos in the new Integrated Chinese Level 1 DVDs (see p. 7), students studying outside of China can now experience real-life communication and culture while teachers use contemporary resources for class activities. Later this year, we will be releasing Integrated Chinese eTextbooks (see p. 7), additional online supplements, and an expanded companion website. We are also very excited about our future development of complete e-learning courses.
Along with new media, we continue to bring you the best in high-quality textbooks and supplements. For programs at the elementary level, All-in-One Chinese Fun (see p. 19) provides a wealth of engaging activities, while Flying With Chinese (see pp. 8–10) now offers an interactive companion site to the series. For middle and high school levels, we have released Strive for a 5 Chinese and Japanese (see p. 18, 47) which are ideal for AP* exam preparation, as well as Huanying Volume 3 (see pp. 12–13). We are also pleased to announce You Speak Korean! (see pp. 56–57), a comprehensive, contemporary college textbook series.
