Last month, Cheng & Tsui sent several titles to be used as raffle prizes at the 2009 Symposium on Asia in the Curriculum, held at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, on September 25th and 26th. Conference organizers described Cheng & Tsui as a "great supplier of East Asia materials", and attendees were eager for the chance to win the books, prominently displayed on site.
Winners included (front row, l-r) Ginger Wu (Trinity University), James Vaughn (high school instructor), Farley Richmond (University of Georgia) and James Leavell (Furman University). The Symposium on Asia in the Curriculum is a group of undergraduate and secondary school educators who teach about Asia, meeting once a year to exchange their information and expertise as well as providing members with information on professional development opportunities, events, grants, and jobs.
