March 19, 2010 - 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Thematic teaching in a language program takes into account both learners’ input and their prior knowledge of the target language. This new way of organizing the curriculum is a departure from the traditional, teacher-centric, linear methods of introducing topics such as language. Led by Gail Wang, you will examine secondary level Chinese textbook Huanying and discuss how to develop thematic activities for the Chinese language classroom.
