the five C’s into a Chinese language course in a way that consistently
keeps students engaged will no longer be a challenge. In this panel,
Jiaying Howard and Lanting Xu, authors of Cheng & Tsui's
forthcoming Huanying series for grades 7-12, will demonstrate
strategies for diverse and integrated learning through games,
interviews, role-playing, and more!

Presentation by the lead author of Flying with Chinese, Dr. Shuhan Wang, Asia Society
Author
of Flying with Chinese will share her
strategies and experiences in creating content-related curriculum for
teaching Chinese in the K-6 classroom, incorporating standards,
implementing backward design, and promoting principles of story form
and thematic planning. There will be discussion with samples and
demonstrations, showing participants how to use any textbook to bring
life to the classroom!
