Office Manager and Customer Service Specialist (Full time)

FUNCTION: Provide experienced administrative, customer service, HR, and bookkeeping support for a small but busy publisher and distributor of Asian studies educational materials.  Assist President in variety of tasks.

SKILLS REQUIRED:  Experience with PC computers in a networked environment.  Knowledge of MSWord and Excel required. Familiarity with excellent research avenues and recordkeeping procedures expected.  Knowledge of bookkeeping required.  Minimum typing speed 60 wpm.

Must be a good listener and note-taker and be able to communicate clearly in writing and on the phone.  Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and be accurate and thorough with excellent follow-through.  Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and get things done in a timely fashion.  Should have a good understanding of business practices and bookkeeping.  Ability to be flexible to help wherever the need is and be able to work well in a team setting. Second  language and interest in Asia a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:   Assist President with correspondence and follow-up with authors, vendors, and customers.  Assist in customer service by answering inquiries about products, orders, and policies; solve customer problems; enter orders into our ordering system; and process returns. Also responsible for human resources, facilities and equipment repair and maintenance, vendor coordination, bookkeeping, and other areas as needed.  Organize and maintain office files and calendars and help greet visitors.  Help wherever needs are.
